Job Summary & Responsibilities

Global Investment Research (GIR) performs fundamental analysis of individual companies, sectors, and entire economies. It produces macroeconomic forecasts, reports on companies and industries, investment opinions on individual securities, strategic portfolio management recommendations, and a wide range of data products for the firm's investing clients and for the firm's own traders and salespeople.

Job Summary & Responsibilities:

Provide level 2 application support and application testing for GS Investment Research

•Support of the research technology platform in a follow the sun model
•Requires onsite coverage during the week and rotational on-call coverage on weekends
•Coordination and participation in performing formally scheduled application releases
•Monitor quality of service and adherence to SLAs
•Work with global research technology application managers to ensure application capacity, resiliency and availability thresholds are met
•Participate in operational projects and initiatives as a key member of the global technology operations team within the global research technology group
•Work closely with core technology infrastructure teams on infrastructure projects critical to the research division in Asia
•Execute functional, load and performance test scripts.  Interpret results and document.
•Develop scripts to automate functional, load and performance tests
•Perform application performance benchmarking and developing associated capacity plans

Basic Qualifications

•Experience in supporting Application and Database platforms (JBoss, Apache, Sybase, etc)
•Working knowledge of Unix/Linux and Windows OS platforms
•Experience with scripting languages (e.g. Shell, Perl, VBS)
•Experience in supporting MS Office template / add-in / macro based applications
•Experience in performing application regression tests and performance benchmarking
•Software development integration and build processing in java and/or .NET platform
•Must be fluent in speaking, reading and writing English
•Strong analytical, communications and client-facing skills

Preferred Qualifications

•Experience in Java and/or .NET testing frameworks (e.g. JUnit/TestNG, NUnit)
•Familiarity with mobile technologies including Smart Phones, Tablets and regional carriers
•SDLC knowledge
•Experience with designing and development of framework for Automated functional testing tools such as QTP/ Selenium
•Fluency in Mandarin and/or Japanese preferred
