Job Summary & Responsibilities
Goldman Sachs Japan Co., Ltd is seeking a lawyer to join its Derivatives Legal Group in Tokyo. The primary focus will be on OTC derivatives and structured finance products with a broad range of underlyers, including credit, equity, funds, FX and rates and advising on various OTC derivatives documentation (including ISDA Master Agreements and CSAs). The successful candidate will be based in Tokyo and sit with a team of lawyers in the Derivatives Legal Group in Tokyo and also work as an active member of Pan Asia Derivatives Legal Group. The role is based within the Legal Department.RESPONSIBILITIES
• Advising on the structuring, documentation and execution of a wide range of OTC derivatives and structured finance products.
• Advising on a variety of risk management legal issues including applicable regulatory issues and related reputational risks.
• Assisting with the negotiation and drafting of transactional documents, including master agreements, collateral and security documents, long-form confirmations and coordination with external counsel.
Basic Qualifications
• Minimum of 2 years post qualification.
• Derivatives market experience and familiarity with ISDA and other derivative documentation required.
• Team oriented with the ability to respond to and be flexible with client demands, whilst adhering to firm policies and group practices.
• Ability to work with colleagues in the US, Asia, and Europe.
• Fluent in spoken and written Japanese and English.
Preferred Qualifications
• Legal experience in a leading law firm or financial institution preferred.• Japanese law qualification is preferable but not a prerequisite.
