Job Summary & Responsibilities

The FICC Core Trading Services team is responsible for front-office trade booking and notification software that is shared across many of the trading businesses in the firm. The team’s current areas of focus include:

- Migrating our trade booking and notification services to work with SecDb, the firm’s strategic trading and risk management platform
- Building scalability to handle everything from the lowest-volume voice-trading businesses all the way up to the highest-volume electronic-trading businesses
- Working with other teams to determine what data is needed by business-facing trading and risk applications, and enhancing our services to meet the needs of those applications
- Coordinating the elimination of legacy software with desk-facing IT teams

The team also provides consultation and support for our software offerings, often working with other IT and business teams throughout the firm.

This role is for a developer to work on projects in the above focus areas. This includes development in the firm’s proprietary language/platform (Slang/SecDb), as well as work on Java-based services. The role also includes second-line technical support.

Basic Qualifications

- Minimum 1 year of relevant experience
- Solid knowledge of at least one programming language
- Solid knowledge of algorithms

Preferred Qualifications

- Java, C/C++, and/or relational database experience
- Familiarity with object-oriented design concepts
- Quick at adapting to new businesses and technologies
- Works effectively in a team based organization
- Good oral and written communication skills
- Self-motivated and driven
- Exceptional analytical skills and a strong desire to learn
- Financial experience is not a requirement but you should be interested and motivated to learn about the products and flows
