We partner with all areas of the firm to deliver banking, sales and trading and asset management capabilities to clients around the world. Alongside that vital service delivery role, Operations provides essential risk management and control, preserving and enhancing the firm’s assets and its reputation.

Structured Products Middle Office (SPMO) is an expanding team responsible for supporting both cross product Medium Term Note (MTN) and Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) issuances, as well as trade support functions for the Correlation and Principal Funding and Investments (PFI) businesses. SPMO coordinates with a number of external clients and a large number of departments across Goldman Sachs, including Trading, Structuring, Sales, Legal, Credit, Operations, Controllers, Risk, & Technology.

SPMO is also responsible for building and maintaining relationships with external service providers to ensure the efficient, timely and controlled processing and execution of new structured situations. SPMO plays a pivotal role from the inception of a new structure, right through to the settlement of the first issue and the subsequent maintenance of the expanding live portfolio.


RESPONSIBILITIES

 Support origination teams with new business enablement and launch of new issues
 Resolve new deal launch related queries. Act as an intermediary and liaise with Trading, Structuring, Legal, Operations and external service providers as required.
 Co-ordination of documentation approvals, liaising with internal product teams in the Business, Operations, and external clients, Trustees and Legal Counsel.
 Assist Structuring and Trading with the unwind and restructuring of existing deals across the portfolios.
 Draft detailed annotated process flow diagrams and brief all support departments on how the new structures work and their role within it.
 Managing daily and weekly control and lifecycle reports to ensure effective risk management.
 Work with Global SPMO counterparts to ensure consistent implementation of trade processing
 Principal Funding and Investments (PFI) trade capture and verification; partner with Trading to understand new trade booking and amendments to live transactions.
 Monitor lifecycle events, including Portfolio switches, SPVs and 3rd Party note reconciliations.
 Process and execution of Credit events and Loan pre-payments.
 Process Improvement. Pro-actively look to enhance the levels of control, efficiency and performance within the department As well as assist in the design and functionality of Tactical and Strategic  solutions
 Build and maintain relationships with external Service Providers

Basic Qualifications

 Graduate or of graduate calibre
 Minimum of 4 years investment banking experience
 Experience working in a Trading or Structuring support environment
 Demonstrates knowledge and or experience of Derivatives or securitisation

Preferred Qualifications

 Exposure to structured credit trade support
 Sound knowledge of derivative products
 Experience with structured product legal documentation (Final Terms, Prospectus, Confirmations)
 Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to forge strong relationships with internal and external clients
