Job Summary & Responsibilities

Workplace Technology is responsible for designing the systems that form the basis of the users’ everyday experiences in the work place which spans the office, on the road and at home. The Asia Pacific team is part of a global organization consisting of systems engineers, software developers and service managers that are focused on developing innovative technology solutions to enable a flexible and mobile work force, while adhering to an ever-changing regulatory landscape. Key technologies of focus include virtual desktop solutions (VDI), remote and mobile access with an emphasis on BYOD, enterprise social and collaboration tools, convergence of communication technologies (voice, video, IM, email, voicemail) and general office productivity tools. The Workplace Technology Services team is global in nature and is responsible for planning and deploying these products and solutions, and providing escalation support.

RESPONSIBILITIES
The Workplace Technology Services team is responsible for:
o Lifecycle management of globally developed products and solutions, with a specific focus on ensuring Asia Pacific requirements – language, regulatory, vendor/service provider landscape – are factored into all phases of lifecycle.
o Lifecycle management of regionally developed products and solutions, with specific focus on ensuring strategic alignment, scale and supportability of solutions.
o As Workplace Technology Services is a global organization, the team provides level 3 support for local and global escalations and global assistance for product deployments during non-production hours in other time zones.

As the Manager of the Asia Workplace Technology Services team, you will be responsible for:
o Setting leadership, providing technical guidance and encouraging the team to be innovative in their approach.
o Instilling a culture of risk management and attention-to-detail within the team, so as to minimize business disruption whilst sustaining an ever-increasing rate of change to the production environment.
o Career development of the team by providing regular feedback, mentoring and annual performance reviews.
o Building strategic relationships with internal business clients as well as peer Technology teams. The successful candidate must be comfortable engaging with senior executives at the firm to address production issues as well as proactive dialog on Workplace Technology strategy and general technology industry trends.
o Engaging with global Workplace Technology Services managers to ensure global alignment, efficient resource management and participate in the continuous advancement of the Service management function.
o You will be part of the regional and global leadership team and will be encouraged and expected to drive strategic decisions and innovations, strong influencing skills are a must for the successful candidate.

Basic Qualifications

SKILL / EXPERIENCE
• Proven experience in managing large teams having a varied portfolio of products and solutions under management.
• Proven track-record of experience in introducing continuous improvements and in setting foundation for team success.
• Excellent interpersonal skills demonstrated by experience working in a global setting.
• Excellent communications, verbal and oral, are essential with ability to set global strategies and influence decisions.
• Ability to multi-task and prioritize under pressure.
• Candidate should be a team player, take initiative and must have an excellent problem solving approach.

TECHNICAL SKILLS
• Thorough understanding of OS fundamentals on Windows XP, 2003, 2008, 7.
• Experience with architecting, designing and implementing enterprise class software products.
• Good knowledge of email, specifically Microsoft Exchange / Outlook, and collaboration systems.
• Good knowledge of development on SharePoint and Microsoft Office products.

QUALIFICATIONS
One of the following as minimum qualification:
1. Bachelors Degree or equivalent in Science, Engineering, or Information Technology.
2. Masters degree in Computer Applications, or equivalent.

Preferred Qualifications

• Genuine interest in the convergence of consumer and enterprise technologies as enablers to address business challenges.
• Good understanding and experience with Citrix, VMWare, HyperV, Active Directory.
• Good understanding and experience with mobile platforms such as RIM Blackberry and Apple iOS.
• Good understanding and experience with productivity suites such as Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat and browsers such as Internet Explorer, Google Chrome and/or similar products.
