Job Summary & Responsibilities
PWM’s Compliance Technology (also called STAR – Strategic Technology for Application of Rules) is a platform which provides business-rules based surveillance of trades for PWM Clients on Post-Trade (EOD) basis. In addition, STAR also provides Pre-Trade Surveillance for orders entered through the PWM order-entry systems.The open position is to work as analyst-developer in the STAR team in Bangalore which is a part of the global PWM technology department. The team is currently located in both New York & Bangalore; teams in both the locations contribute equally to development projects, application and user support.
As a team-member, you will be responsible for support & development of the STAR platform. You will interface very closely with the PWM Compliance teams and also other technology teams globally. You will be expected to do technical design & development for both business-driven & infrastructure projects. You work very closely with global team to implement new business requirements for business critical projects towards target delivery dates.
Basic Qualifications
Key technologies used: Java / J2EE, Sybase (ANSI SQL), IBM iLog, Perl & Shell-Scripting, Autosys, UNIX/LinuxMandatory technical skills for this position include:
- Java – ability to debug & build Java code; write unit & integration-tests
- Sybase – ability to write new stored-procedures, debug & enhance existing ones, performance-tuning
- UNIX / Linux exposure
Preferred Qualifications
Exposure to the following technologies will be a plus:- Rule Engines: IBM iLog / Jboss Drools / Centinal
- Perl – ability to write Perl scripts for interfacing with database & files
- Prior experience in working in global teams, on-site experience and knowledge of financial domain is a plus
