Job Summary & Responsibilities
Operations is a dynamic, multi-faceted division that partners with all areas of the firm to deliver banking, sales and trading and asset management capabilities to clients around the world. Alongside this vital service delivery role, Operations provides essential risk management and control, preserving and enhancing the firm’s assets and its reputation.Operations span all product lines and markets, serving as internal business partners who develop the processes and controls, and help to specify the systems that deliver accuracy, timeliness and integrity to our business.
Regulatory & Tax Operations is responsible for over 500 non-financial reporting and monitoring functions to over 400 regulators and exchanges. The group enhances the firm's regulatory and tax transaction and position data and operational controls and develops best practices and standards for processing, infrastructure, and change management. The group aims to leverage expertise consistently across regions and entities in order to demonstrate supervision to regulators and provide efficiency, data accuracy, and transparency around controls.
Tax Operations Associate responsibilities include managing tax related inquires from multiple business units and ensuring firm/client compliance with IRS regulations related to account documentation, withholding, and information reporting. This is an existing role with high visibility across multiple divisions in the firm and offers the opportunity to make significant advancements in the specialist career path. The ideal candidate will have hands-on problem solving experience in the financial services industry, with demonstrated skills in investment accounting, financial reporting, audits, tax issues, and client relationship management.
Responsibilities:
- Reviewing client tax documentation and supporting Know Your Customer evidence (KYC)
- Ensuring accurate/appropriate tax withholding and remittance
- Production, mailing, and filing of IRS tax forms for the firm’s Private Wealth Management (PWM) & Institutional clients
- Tax data and document reconciliation
- Regulatory reporting to various state agencies
- Implementation of new IRS regulations
- Providing tax-related operational support to the firm’s Investment Professionals, Client Service reps, and clients
- Processing income reclassification events for information reporting and withholding adjustments
- Tax analysis of corporate action data
- Reconciliation of vendor data
- Process and procedure documentation, review, & maintenance
- Support the ongoing compliance with IRS Cost Basis reporting regulations
- Supporting the development of new products
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior tax-related work experience and/or accounting major with high concentration in tax preferred- Functional management skills
- Sound operational and compliance judgment
- Thrives in a teamwork environment, strong interpersonal skills
- Experience managing expectations and delivery of services
- Service orientation, sense of urgency, ability to manage internal clients’ expectations, follow-through and professionalism
- Excellent communication skills
- Operational mindset focusing on improving operational processes and procedures
- Experience with Investment Banking a plus
- Knowledgeable about securities processing, corporate actions and asset servicing a plus
- Spanish, Portuguese, German, Japanese, and/or Mandarin fluency a plus

Basic Qualifications
- At least 4 years of work experience in Operations or related field- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
- Audit experience
- Financial reporting experience
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, etc.) as well as proficiency with web-based applications
