Job Summary & Responsibilities
The Merchant Banking Technology team supports all aspects of the Merchant Banks private equity fund investing - including sourcing potential investors and investments, deal execution, fund management, statements, and budget/planning and revenue reporting.Merchant Banking Tech is on-boarding the Merchant Banking business to SecDb and integrating MBD with appropriate Firmwide flows and systems. This includes booking positions into SecDb and flowing to appropriate areas of the firm, developing workflow based data capture tools for investments/pipeline management, as well as developing a Data Warehouse and Reporting Platform for revenues, expenses, budget, distributions, investments data.
This role will interface with the Merchant Banking business on day to day basis to determine requirements as well as interface with many areas of the firm including MBD Controllers, Regulatory Operations, Firmwide Risk, Operations, Archon, Investment Banking and Securities Division flows in order to determine the best solutions that satisfy MBD’s needs.
Responsibilities include

•Understand current business flows, processes, architecture and leverage that in developing the Books & records flows/controls
•Work with other technology areas to leverage solutions developed in other parts of the firm
Basic Qualifications
7-10 years of minimum experience (2+ years experience in managing both people and projects)Experience in gathering requirements with Clients and managing projects
Good communication/interpersonal skills
Agnostic to programming in any language or database
Experience working with one of the following: C#, Java, C++
Adequate background in SQL/RDBMS – database skills with Sybase IQ a plus
Preferred Qualifications
Knowledge of SecDb/Slang a big plus (for GS Internal Candidates only)Financial background and interest in learning a business
