National Mission for Clean Ganga

Research Officers in Ganga Knowledge Centre
National Mission for Clean Ganga (NMCG) is a registered society under the Societies Registration Act, 1860 to co-ordinate and implement at the national level various activities of the NGRBA programme including the World Bank assisted National Ganga River Basin Project. It is in the process of establishing the Ganga Knowledge Centre (GKC) as an integral part of NMCG. The GKC is the repository of knowledge on Ganga with key objectives of –
i. Create and manage knowledge resources, including the analysis and modelling of
diverse data sets relevant to management of the Ganga basin. This will enable the
identification of sensitive hotspots/ critical reaches, along with selection of critical
water quality parameters for monitoring;
ii. Design and foster research and innovation, including identification of knowledge gaps
for research and need for new ideas, supporting targeted research and spurring and
nurturing needed innovation (e.g. for low-cost and effective treatment technologies); and
iii. Facilitate stakeholder dialogue, by designing messages and programs for public
involvement and building partnerships with Universities, Central, State, and Local
Government Agencies, NGOs, and Private Sector/ Industry.
2.0 Applications are invited for four positions of Research Officers from young professionals/Post-Graduates those are fresh from the college/university or having experience of less than 2 years, preferably with formal training/degree in river conservation/pollution mitigation. They will be deployed to work for Ganga Knowledge Centre on contract basis initially for a period of one year in a consolidated pay range between 0.50 - 0.75 lakh per month depending upon qualifications and merit. These positions will be purely on contract basis.
3.0 Eligibility criteria: Young Professionals/Post-Graduates those are fresh from the college/university or those having experience of less than 2 years, preferably with formal training/degree in river conservation/pollution mitigation.
