Job Summary & Responsibilities

The Business Development Services (BDS) team is part of GSAM Distribution which markets Goldman Sachs Asset Management’s (GSAM’s) investment products and services to institutions and, through third party channels, to markets around the world. GSAM Distribution focuses on building and maintaining long-term client relationships and communicating key themes from the firm’s leading investment professionals.

The BDS team is responsible for responding to informational requests from both internal and external sources including clients, prospects, consultants, sales and client service professionals. Requests for information specifically include: RFPs and RFIs, consultant requests, client inquiries and updates, as well as other ad hoc queries. BDS supports GSAM Sales teams and works closely with sales and client service professionals, product teams, legal, compliance and other internal business units.

BDS is also responsible for creating and maintaining a centralized database for firmwide language and marketing information on our investment products, operational capabilities, risk management procedures, compliance policies, performance, personnel, assets, and competitive rankings.

The primary responsibilities of the BDS team can be broken into 3 functions:  new business RFPs and RFIs, existing client/ consultant reports and updates, and consultant and 3rd party database management.  The focus of the SLC team to date has been completing quarterly Third Party Distributor updates and maintaining GSAM product and firmwide information on consultant and 3rd party databases.  We are seeking to expand the responsibility set of the SLC team and are seeking a professional with strong managerial skills to manage the expanding team.  This person will act as a player / coach, meaning they will have responsibilities similar to the individual team members as well as coaching and mentoring the team.

Duties and Responsibilities:

•Manage local team comprised of analysts and associates.
•Manage the team workflow and seek to build efficiencies with the global organization.
•Act as a player / coach by coordinating and completing requests in a timely and accurate manner and maintaining GSAM products across global Consultant databases.
•Partner with the global BDS team on all new and existing business updates.
•Seek to improve team processes to increase quality and efficiency.
•Assist with ad-hoc inquiries from the Sales and Client Relationship teams
•Develop strong working relationships with product management teams, sales professionals, client relationship managers, compliance, legal, and other groups

•Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
•Strong interpersonal skills, humor, maturity and ability to work successfully within a team environment.
•Comprehensive technical skills and proficiency in MS Office Suite.
